The Setup Tasks are designed to help guide new users through the initial setup of the product. The page can be accessed by clicking the Setup tab in the admin area main navigation bar.

The Tasks
Below you will find a summary of each task and details of what you need to do for them to be considered completed.
Set Company Name and Logo
This task validates that the company name and logo have been set. To set these values, navigate to Setup > General Settings.
Setup Cron Automation Tasks
This task validates that the cron has been successfully invoked. We recommend setting up the cron to run every five minutes, or as frequently as your web hosting allows.
Once the cron has been configured on your web server, allow enough time for it to be invoked for the first time and this task should be automatically marked as completed.
Activate Your First Payment Gateway
This task validates that a payment gateway has been activated. To setup and configure your first payment gateway, navigate to Setup > Payment Gateways and choose your desired gateway from the list.
If you do not plan to use any online payment methods, we recommend activating the Mail in Payment or Bank Transfer payment gateways.
Activate Credit Card Payments
This task validates that a merchant payment gateway has been activated. A merchant payment gateway allows you to process credit cards directly via WHMCS and provides you with the most flexible experience for billing and payments.

Activate Your First Domain Registrar
This task validates that a domain registrar has been activated. A domain registrar enables WHMCS to automatically register and manage domains.

Create your first product
This task validates that a product has been created. Creating a product is how you define the products and services you sell.
To create a product, navigate to Setup > Products/Services > Products/Services and begin by creating a product group, followed by creating your product.
Create your first support department
This task validates that a support department has been created. Support departments are what enable your customers to contact you using the WHMCS ticket system.
To create your first department, navigate to Setup > Support > Support Departments and click the Add New Department button.
Setup Notifications in HipChat and Slack
WHMCS is integrated with HipChat and Slack to allow you and your team to receive instant notifications when events and actions occur that are important to you. Through a powerful rule based system, you can configure notification rules with a range of criteria.
This task validates that you have setup at least one notification rule. Not using HipChat or Slack? An email notification rule will also cause this task to be considered completed.
Activate selling of SSL Certificates
This task validates that you have activated selling of SSL Certificates.
Major browsers are now penalising websites and displaying warning notices on websites that don't have SSL. If you're selling web hosting, you should be selling SSL too. WHMCS makes it quick and easy to sell SSL Certificates through the integrated MarketConnect platform.
Activate selling of Weebly Site Builder
This task validates that you have activated selling of the Weebly Website Builder.
Offering a Site Builder such as Weebly makes it easier for your customers to build a website and create their online presence, and makes your web hosting more accessible to a wider non-technical audience. WHMCS makes it easy to sell Weebly Site Builder through the integrated MarketConnect platform.
Activate selling of SiteLock Website Security
This task validates that you have activated selling of the SiteLock Website Security.
SiteLock provides security and malware scanning, detection and removal for websites along with WAF and CDN services. WHMCS makes it easy to sell SiteLock through the integrated MarketConnect platform.
Activate selling of SpamExperts Email Security
This task validates that you have activated selling of the SpamExperts Email Security.
SpamExperts offers protection against spam and malware for email along with email archiving services. WHMCS makes it easy to sell SpamExperts through the integrated MarketConnect platform.
Enable Sign-In with Google, Facebook and Twitter
This task validates that you have activated sign-in via at least one of the Sign-In Integrations.
Sign-In Integrations allow your customers to register faster and sign in quicker using their existing accounts with Facebook, Google or Twitter.
Enable cPanel Application Linking
This task validates that you have enabled cPanel Application Linking.
Application Links is a feature exclusive to WHMCS that integrates WHMCS directly with the cPanel control panel to provide your customers with direct access to the most commonly used areas of WHMCS from within the cPanel user interface utilising Single Sign-On technology.
Setup automated daily backups
This task validates that you have enabled at least one automated daily backup routine.
We recommend enabling backups to protect against data loss. There are 3 automated daily backup options available in WHMCS - cPanel Backups (recommended for those running cPanel), FTP/SFTP Backups (recommended for non-cPanel installations) and Email Backups.
