WHMCS MarketConnect allows you to resell SiteLock® Website Security services.

For more information, see our SiteLock Website Security Knowledgebase.

Supported Actions

  • Automated provisioning of SiteLock services.
  • Single Sign-On into SiteLock Dashboard from the Client Area and Admin Area.
  • Upsells and promotions in the Client Area.
  • Automated cancellation.

Setup and Configuration

To activate and begin reselling SiteLock via WHMCS MarketConnect:

  1. Go to Configuration () > System Settings > MarketConnect or, prior to WHMCS 8.0, Setup > MarketConnect.
  2. Click Activate under the SiteLock product offering.

SiteLock Automation

When ordering SiteLock as an addon for a hosting or reseller account, WHMCS and MarketConnect fully automate the SiteLock provisioning process. This includes automated provisioning of FTP access credentials and DNS records where required.

FTP Access

The SiteLock service uses FTP access to automatically fix infected websites.

For SiteLock plans that offer the auto-fixing service, WHMCS will provision a dedicated FTP account for cPanel & WHM and DirectAdmin hosting accounts and supply it to SiteLock automatically. Plesk servers use the primary account login details.

If FTP access can't be automatically provisioned, the welcome email contains instructions for the user on how to set FTP credentials manually.

DNS Records

For the WAF and CDN services offered with some SiteLock plans, there are DNS record changes that have to be performed to use the service.

For cPanel, DirectAdmin, and Plesk hosting accounts, WHMCS will attempt to do this automatically on the server.

If the automatic provisioning fails or an external DNS service is being used, the record changes will need to be performed manually. The SiteLock Welcome Email sent to the customer following activation of the service contains instructions that detail the changes needed.

Admin Management Actions

For any SiteLock order, an admin user can perform the following actions from the service management page as shown below:

Sitelock-marketconnect-service.png

  • Log in to SiteLock Control Panel — Perform single sign-on into the SiteLock dashboard for the given website.
  • Update FTP Access Credentials — Update the FTP access credentials for the given website.
    • This only appears for SiteLock services and addons that require FTP.
    • To use this:
      1. Update the custom field values for FTP access.
      2. Click Save Changes.
      3. Click to submit the new FTP details to SiteLock.

Single Sign-On to the SiteLock dashboard can also be accessed via MarketConnect by managing SiteLock at Configuration () > System Settings > MarketConnect or, prior to WHMCS 8.0, Setup > MarketConnect.

Client Management Actions

When logged in to the Client Area, if a customer has an active SiteLock service, they will be provided with a link to Single Sign-On into the SiteLock dashboard, from which they can manage and use the SiteLock service.

Client Area Promotions

MarketConnect supports showing SiteLock promotions on the Client Area homepage, the shopping cart, and when managing a hosting product that does not have a SiteLock service attached to it.

For more information, see MarketConnect Promotions and Upsells and the SiteLock knowledgebase.
